Custom Yamaha V Star Clutch Lever
I have always enjoyed Yahama motorcycles, espcially the V Star models, but the one thing I did not like about my V Star, was how it constantly stalled at slow speeds. While trying to maneuver at slow speeds, it would constantly stall, or if I had a passenger on back, they would always be head butting me due to the bucking of the V Star. I researched and researched trying to find a solution to this, as my V Star was something I had always wanted to own. I came up with no answers on how to stop the slow speed bucking, so I decided to ask some motorcycle mechanics if they had any solutions.
Finally, I found one that had a solution! He showed that the way the clutch lever was designed, the small friction zone and the elusiveness of the "sweet spot" necessary for low speed maneuvers was not viable. We went over some new ideas on how we thought Yamaha should design the V Star clutch levers, and decided to give trial and error to some of these ideas. We found a supplier of clutch levers from oversea, and began our tests.
After 1 week, and 13 levers later, we had found the solution! It's a design that Yamaha should have created in the beginning for the V Star models, but it took 2 inquisitive guys in a garage to come up with the Clevver Lever. Instaling one of these on your V Star will give you smoother shifting, improve your slow speed maneuvers, Increase size of the friction zone by 50%, decrease the amount of pull needed by 33%, and stops being head-butted by your passenger.
